Welcome to Satoffee, where coffee meets Bitcoin. Our journey began with a simple yet groundbreaking idea: combining the love for coffee with the innovative potential of Bitcoin. Satoffee (a blend of “Satoshi” and “coffee”) isn’t just a coffee maker; it’s a gateway to experiencing Bitcoin in the most delicious way possible.
The Genesis of Satoffee
It all started as a DIY project inspired by the creator of LNBits, Ben Arc, and his BitcoinSwitch concept. In October 2022, Daniel 🌴⚡️ envisioned a coffee maker that could be activated by Bitcoin payments via the Lightning Network. By June 2023, this vision materialized into Satoffee, an innovative coffee maker that brews your favorite beverage with the tap of a Bitcoin payment through the Lightning Network.

How it works
Satoffee consists of three main components: an ESP32 with a display, a PCB (parasite) that interfaces with the coffee maker, and control software.
- ESP32: this microcontroller acts as the brain of Satoffee, displaying the QR code for payments and controlling the coffee machine.
- PCB (parasite): this custom-designed board serves as the interface between the ESP32 and the coffee maker, ensuring smooth communication and operation.
- Control software: this software manages the payment processing and machine communication, enabling the coffee maker to serve coffee once a payment is made.
